Lego has recently unveiled the new addition to its line of world famous Lego Star Wars models and sets – Lego Super Star Destroyer Executor 10221 is the next UCS model to be released in September of this year. One of the largest and most powerful vessels in Star Wars has been created as an exclusive model of Lego.

As Star Wars enthusiasts know, Super Star Destroyer Executor 10221 is the vessel that served as command ship at the Battle of Endor and it is also the personal flagship of Darth Vader in the Star Wars films.

The Lego Super Star Destroyer Executor 10221 is well-designed and strongly built. It has 3,152 pieces and measures nearly 50 in or 124.5 cm long and weight nearly 8 pounds or 3.5 kg.

People who fancy complex toys like Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 will also have fun playing with the new Lego model as it includes minifigures including Darth Vader, Admiral Piett, Dengar, Bossk and IG-88. It also features a display stand and data sheet label. The center section of the Lego Super Star Destroyer can be lifted to reveal its own command center.

This will be the first time that the Super Star Destroyer Executor 10221 model will be designed by Lego. According to Lego’s senior designer Kurt Kristiansen, he tried to design the model as close as possible – both with the angles and the whole profile – to the original. He said that his biggest challenge with the Super Star Destroyer is its size.

It is the longest Star Wars model that is made in Lego bricks. Nonetheless, he made an excellent job in designing the Lego Super Star Destroyer Executor 10221.

If you want to add the Star Wars Lego model to your collection, be ready to spend at least $400 for it!. It will be sold on retail stores and Lego’s website starting September 1, 2011. The new Lego Super Star Destroyer Executor 10221 is recommended for ages 16 and up.
